In 2003 by the Gugging Artists’ legal representatives and the association Friends of the Gugging House of Artists founded the private foundation - artists of gugging with the support of the regional government of Lower Austria. The aim of the foundation was to create a large collection of important works by Gugging Artists as well as of → Art Brut in general. The many works form the core of the Art / Brut Center’s collection today. They are on show in the Museum as part of the standing exhibition “Gugging Classics” as well as being presented in changing exhibitions.
The Foundation’s advisory board consist of representatives from three departments of the regional government of Lower Austria (Culture, Building Administration, Social Affairs) as well as the Foundation’s spokesman for the Gugging Artists and a representative of the Society.
The executive committee presently includes Dr. Johann FEILACHER (Museum Gugging), Dr. Wolfgang WALDNER (Museumsquartier) und Prof. Dr. Helmut ZAMBO (Collector).
