Mano

"Mano Design was founded by Hedwig ROTTER after the break-up of nono pd in July 2007.
This label mostly conceives, produces and sells items of tableware, accessories and interior design. The products are characterized by their multi-functionality, associative shapes and a combination of different materials.

The emphasis of the works lies with high precision, a humorous angle and the questioning of habitual behaviour in relation to products. The shapes are simple and functional; very often they are based on every day items that have been denaturalised in the work process.

All Mano products are hand made as single copies, limited editions, small series or commission pieces in a private Vienna studio. The high quality china used for these artefacts is burned at 1260°C (2300°F). That this is very different from industrial production methods plays an important role.
Each piece is individually crafted in many production steps. The decors are devised in the private studio and applied via screen-print."
